Bimbo Thomas says she regrets sending nude photos to ex-lover

Actress Bimbo Thomas granted an interview recently to The Nollywood Reporter, where she admitted sending nude photos to a married ex-lover. Bimbo says it's one of the big mistakes of her life.
"Yes, I have been in love before and I have been involved in relationships I thought was love but wasn't. There was this relationship I thought would lead to the altar. I was committed to it and the guy was committed too but it still didn't work out. We are still friends though. When I came out of that relationship, I didn't want to date again. I just wanted to be left alone but you know women and love; I found another guy, he was the kind of guy one will call a gentleman. I fell in love with him; I could do anything for him. I even made a mistake that still tugs at my conscience till date; I sent him my nude photos. 
Looking back now, it was one mistake too many especially when I realized the guy was deceiving me as he was married with children. I cried and cried! I almost gave up on everything thing but God kept me."
On asking why she made such a stupid mistake, she replied, "Yes, it is a stupid mistake but you know celebrities are humans too.  We hurt, we laugh, we cry, we love, we grief and do everything every other human being does. We fall in love and make mistakes. Though we fall down like the Bible would say, but we can't stay down, we get up and keep forging ahead. Many guys that approach female celebrities have evil intentions."

Responding to questions on if she will gladly date again, the Omo Ghetto star said she will but will approach the subject cautiously. "Dating is now something I dread. I don't think I will give up on love but the next guy might pay for the sins of others." She said amidst laughter laced with vengeance. We can't help but pray God helps the next guy.

Bimbo Thomas, a graduate of creative art from the University of Lagos, came into the industry a few years ago and after a series of small roles, became a household name, thanks to "Omo Ghetto", a Yoruba movie produced by popular Actress cum Producer, Funke Akindele.

Marketers ban Mercy Johnson for being too expensive

Nollwood marketers have banned actress Mercy Johnson Okojie for being too expensive. Doesn't make sense does it? If someone's fee is too high, the sensible thing to do would be to boycott them and use less expensive actresses.

Mercy Johnson is currently the highest paid actress in Nollywood. She charges between N1.8million to N2m to feature in a movie. The others, like Ini and Funke charge between N700k to N1.2million.

For this reason, the actress has been blacklisted by the Nollywood Movie Marketers Association. The ban will not take effect immediately as Mercy has already signed up to do quite a number of movies. She returned on Thursday from a movie location, and will be on the set of another movie from tomorrow, Sunday. She will be traveling out of Nigeria sometime this month and when she returns, will be on another movie set. So she's basically booked till the end of the year.

The idea now is not to ban her after all her current contracts end. So the ban won't take effect until at least January 2014. This is not the first time the movie marketers association will be placing a ban on actors. They did this a few years ago when quite a number of Nollywood actors including Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Noah, RMD, Emeka Ike, Jim Iyke and others were blacklisted.

Three men gang rape 15yr old girl in Lagos

Three men have allegedly gang-raped a 15-year old girl at the Ikorodu area of Lagos, as the police are alleged to be threatening the victim's parents to settle the matter out of court.

The state government had earlier blamed the police for frustrating rape cases by threatening victims and their families to withdraw their cases. Two of the men have been arraigned at one of the newly established Family Courts in Ikeja for allegedly raping the girl.

The suspects are being tried by the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender, OPD, while the third suspect is still at large. It was learnt that the victim was lured to No 23, Fola Mustapha Street, in Ajegunle area of Ikorodu by her classmate (name withheld), a 16-year old girl, on the pretext that she wanted to return a text book which she had earlier borrowed from the victim.

The victim was deceived by her friend who had already arranged with the three suspected rapists to have sex with her forcefully. The three suspects; Yusuf Mohammed, Rasheed Oyedepo and Tunde were alleged to have inflicted bodily injury on the girl (name withheld).
It was gathered that the raped girl's friend deliberately delayed her classmate for hours and enabled the heinous crime by putting on the generator set, on the pretext that she needed to charge her phone.
According to the OPD , the victim wanted to take her leave in annoyance when it was getting too late for the her to return home, but her friend told her to wait for a while before taking her to a new room where she was raped in turns by the gang.

While taking turns to rape the girl, the noise from the generator and the music they were playing prevented the people outside from hearing the screaming and wailing of the girl. On getting home in a bad condition, the girl's mother took her to a private clinic for medical attention.

She was taken to Ikorodu General Hospital for proper medical treatment, where it was discovered that her womb had been tampered with at the private clinic.

The victim was in a critical condition as she was admitted in the hospital for three days while undergoing blood transfusion. A new twist has, however, been added to the story as the police has transferred the suspects, whose cases are already in court, to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti for investigation, an act the OPD described as unlawful.

It was gathered that the police had gone to the girl's family threatening the mother for taking the case to OPD, after which they transferred the suspects to SCID, Panti. It would be recalled that the government has established a clinic where DNA tests will be conducted on rape victims and suspected rapists to enhance prosecution of the cases.

The heartbreaking poem a 14yr old girl wrote before she killed herself

Izzy Dix and the poem she wrote (pictured above), a gifted pupil who had ambition to go to Oxford University, took her own life after complaining she could no longer cope with being bullied, both at school and online.

'Izzy would come home and sob in my arms" Her mother Gabbi said "They called her "ugly", "freak", "frigid". If she put her hands up in class, she'd be labelled a "swot" and they'd snigger at her, or make crude comments. They'd exclude her from events, tell her to go home, she wasn't wanted. They'd turn their backs on her, literally. When she did come home, it didn't stop, because it doesn't, these days. They name-called her by text, then online. She'd log onto Facebook and get abuse. Then onto that awful site Ask.fm and be subjected to filth."

14 yr old Izzy committed suicide on September 17th. Her mother explained what happened that night
"When she came home from school that night, she seemed tired and a bit cranky. We had words because I wanted to watch The Great British Bake Off and she didn't. But there was nothing to suggest she was going to do what she did. I remember she painted her nails - she was so meticulous about how she looked - then went up to her room and did her homework, had a shower, got her bag ready for school, laid out her uniform. I popped in and we had another chat about how the bullying was getting on top of her. It was nothing we hadn't done 100 times before, and I'd always give her the talk about how she was stronger than the bullies.
'Then I went downstairs while she got ready for bed. I had a cup of tea and a cigarette — she hates me smoking so I did it outside. I was gone 15 minutes, tops. In that 15 minutes my life was destroyed.'

When she came back inside, Gabbi went back upstairs to see if Izzy was getting into bed, but the bedroom door did not swing back as usual.
'Something was blocking it, and it was Izzy,' she says, and breaks down completely.
Her description of the hours that followed is too awful to relate in detail, but she managed to get her daughter's body down and dial 999, then ran hysterically into the street. Neighbours tried to revive Izzy while she 'just took off'.

'It's all a blur. At one point I ran into a car. A police officer had to restrain me.
'I remember him saying, "I am so sorry to have to do this" as he got me to the ground.'

Not long before her suicide, Izzy wrote a heartbreaking poem about her ordeal. She called it I Give Up, that's the pics above.

Rihanna Ranks No.1 in Touring Revenue

While Kanye West is canceling shows because of poor ticket sales, Rihanna is selling out concerts. Her Diamonds World Tour has been ranked No.1 in touring revenue.

The Diamonds tour, in support of Rihanna's 2012 album Unapologetic, kicked off on March 8 in Buffalo, N.Y. and played U.S. and Canadian arenas through May 7, closing with a packed house at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. With revenue from the European dates added, the tour's overall gross passed the $100 million mark from more than 1.2 million sold tickets.
Following the run through Europe, the Barbadian singer spent September and October on brief jaunts through markets in Asia, Australia/New Zealand and South Africa as well as stops in Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv. She is currently on for a final North American trek that wraps on Nov. 15 in New Orleans.

28 killed, 200 wounded in Anambra church stampede

About 28 people lost their lives yesterday during a stampede at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ground, Uke, Idemili North LGA of Anambra State (The Adoration ground after the stampede above

More than 100,000 people were said to be gathered at the venue of the incident, with facilities that can hardly take 5,000 people, when the stampede occurred. The tragic incident has already become political, as the camps of Governor Peter Obi and Senator Chris Ngige are trading blame over the incident.
About 200 victims that survived the stampede were taken hospitals in Onitsha and Nkpor where a lot of them were treated and discharged.

The incident occurred shortly after Governor Peter Obi, the governorship candidate for the All progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Willie Obiano; and the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, among others left the place after an all-night church programme.

Obi, who later on visited hospitals, where the survivors of the stampede were being attended to, promised to set up a panel to investigate the cause of the stampede.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka , confirmed the incident but said he could not give figures or state the cause of the incident because investigations were still going on to establish the cause of the incident.

The Founder and Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Centre, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obinma, a Catholic priest popularly called Ebube Mmuonso (the glory of the Holy Ghost), also went round to see and pray for the survivors.
He, however, said he was still too shocked to comment on the incident.

Nigerian Universities Must Reopen Next Week, With Or Without ASUU - FG

According to Scan-News, in a last ditch effort to resolve the ASUU strike, President Goodluck Jonathan will on Monday, November 4, meet with the leadership of ASUU at the Presidential Villa.

An official of the Vice President's office who pleaded anonymity told Scan News that the President will at next Monday's meeting present to the ASUU leadership the administration's last concession for them to call off the prolonged strike.

But if ASUU fails to call off, the Federal Government will then resort to plan B, which will be to compulsorily open the universities, using the instrumentality of the governing councils and the school managements.

Already, most of the governing councils of the universities have started meeting to work out modalities for the compulsory re-opening of the universities should ASUU fail to honour the personal request of President Jonathan.

Scan News gathered that the Supervising Minister of Education, Barr.
Nyesom Wike and the Vice Chancellors of Public Universities also discussed the re-opening of the schools last Monday. Most of the Vice Chancellors suggested the compulsory re-opening of the schools, should the last ditch efforts fail.

It was gathered that security report available to the Presidency may have necessitated this line of action to salvage the universities system from the direction it is facing at present

Kokomaster Dbanj was supposed to storm and take over Zimbabwe last weekend at the Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival dubbed the "Battle of Africa" but according to reports from Zimbabwe, our man delivered a very lukewarm performance that eventually had him booed off stage.

According to AllAfrica, the festival featured Ugandan reggae musician Bebe Cool and local dancehall artistes Winky D, Guspy Warrior and King Shaddy.
D'Banj represented West Africa while Bebe Cool represented East Africa.

D'Banj was the main attraction and when it was turn for him to perform, he exploded onto the stage
amid pomp and zest but soon fizzled out and slumped into near- pornography with some fans.

He ran out of steam after exhausting his familiar songs in less than an hour and went into what many revellers described as "hogwash".

His opening song was "Fall in Love", followed by "Oliver Twist", "Kukere" remix, "Don't Tell Me Nonsense", "Igwe" and "Why Me". Then he lost the plot.

Neither his scantily dressed dancers nor his swag was enough to sway the majority of the crowd that became visibly restless and disappointed.
So disappointing was his performance that he resorted to X-rated antics with ladies he calls "Kokolates" on the stage, in a bid to kill time.

Among the "Kokolates" was songstress Ammara Brown, who jumped on stage and joined in the dirty dancing.

"Let me see all my Kokolates on stage, now shake your boom boom and do the catwalk," he said, amid boos from the crowd, especially men.
Some disgruntled fans hurled insults and obscenities.

D'Banj failed to impress and was the opposite of the Nigerian twins P-Square who performed at the same festival last year and left fans asking for more.
P-Square were even barred from leaving the stage by fans who craved for more.

"This guy should not have been the main act at the show. He has a few hit songs we know that he has performed. Now look at how he is whiling up the remaining time with the ladies," said a fan in the crowd.

Kanye and Kim suing Youtube co-founder over engagement video leak

Days after Kanye West staged his elaborate proposal to Kim K at San Francisco's AT&T Park in front of family and friends on her 33rd birthday, video footage of the event surfaced online. Kim & Kanye are now suing the person who leaked the video.

According to reports, Kim and Kanye have filed a copyright lawsuit against the co-founder of Youtube, Chad Hurley, claiming he crashed their party uninvited and taped and released footage of the proposal after signing an agreement promising not to after he was allowed to stay and witness the proposal. Beverly Osu and best friend Charity Owoh fall out over BBA Bimp

Beverly Osu and her best friend Charity Owoh are no longer friends. In fact, heared they are currently sworn enemies, and it all has to do with one gorgeous man, Big Brother Africa contestant Bimp Habesh from Ethiopia. Beverly and Charity fell out after Charity began to pursue Bimp who has been staying more in Nigeria since the reality show ended a few months ago. Charity went as far as introducing Bimp to her mum and letting everyone know she was interested in him. Then came Beverly, who also started showing interest in Bimp. Remember she confessed her feelings to Bimp in the Big Brother house but Bimp told her he had a girlfriend and Bev subsequently turned to Angelo.

Anyhow, the two friends first fell out after Charity allegedly told Angelo (when he was in Nigeria) that Beverly still had a thing for Bimp, and after Angelo left, things became really heated between the former BFFs. Beverly felt betrayed that her best friend not only ratted her out but also went after Bimp knowing how she felt about him. Even hear that one of them went as far as opening a twitter account to attack the other, and the other one got so depressed about the situation (because all their friends supported the other) that she 'contemplated' suicide.

Bimp is currently not dating any of the girls. He might not even know they are fighting over him.

IS CHIDINMA HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HER CHURCH?

MTN Project fame Season 3, spotlight, which church does chidinma go to? In case you don't know Chidinma Ekile is a member of the Choir in Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria.  Probably based on her fame and genre of music, some other members of the choir have started to have slight issues and concluded she wasn't spiritually eligible to be in the church choir.

The MTN Project fame Season 3 winner said in an interview with HHW Online that she has not deviated from the doctrines of the church and that music cannot take church service from her. According to Chidinma, the church has no problem with her career as an artiste at the same time, singing in the choir.

The Capital Hill signee discovered her talent as a teenage church choir and has since been dedicating her success to her family and the Church of God.

More Americans admit having sex behind the wheel – Report

• Survey measures how much 'living' goes on in cars
• 11% of U.S. adults participating in the survey admit to having sex in cars
• 10% have put on makeup whilst driving and 60% use their cellphone

A new survey has found that 11 percent of drivers have had sex while driving.
The online questionnaire attempted to discover how much 'living' goes on in people's cars – whether it be eating, using their phone or having sex.

Those aged 35 to 44 were the leading age group for acknowledging their sexual exploits in moving cars.

The Scout GPS survey, which involved around 2,000 people found men were three times more likely to admit to participating in sexual activity than women (17 percent and 5 percent respectively).

Having a meal was also something people admitted to doing whilst in the driver's seat – and not just a sandwich or a burger that would only require the use of one hand, but 19% said they had eaten something that required a knife and fork.

The survey also revealed some intriguing figures on what people would get up to if no-one was watching.

Nine percent of respondents said they'd drive naked, 15 percent said they would have sex, 30 percent said they would pick their noses and 54 percent admitted they would sing out loud.

Some disturbing trends were revealed about the use of cellphones with 19 percent of participants admitting they had checked social media, email, or played games whilst driving.

60 percent confirmed they had used a phone in some capacity.

Shaving while driving was the most dangerous activity.

Of those who confessed to shaving in the survey, almost one-in-five said they had actually been in an accident.
