Nigeria’s first family, the Jonathans, are in a celebratory mood at the moment as their daughter, Faith Elizabeth Sakwe would be getting married to her hearthrob, Godswill Osim Edward come next month.

Faith, who was adopted by the First Family when she was still young, will be celebrating her traditional marriage ceremony, on Saturday, 5th April, 2014, at 1pm. Venue is the Otuoke, Bayelsa State residence of the president. This would be followed by the marriage ceremony at the National Ecumenical Centre, Phase 1, Abuja, and reception at the International Conference Centre, Herbert Macaulay Way, Abuja on Saturday, 12th April, 2014.

House help beheads retired Judge in Ogun State

According to Vanguard, a 25 year old house help identified simply as David has been arrested for attacking and beheading a 65 year old retired Chief magistrate.

Olufunmilayo Timeyin was  slaughtered at her residence in Laderin  estate in Obafemi-Owode LGA of Ogun State.

David allegedly scaled the fence of the late Timeyin’s  bungalow, deactivated the security system inside the building and laid siege within the premises before hacking the retired magistrates to death.

National Conference “Sleeping Delegate” Hamma Misau Is Dead

A delegate at the ongoing National Conference in Nigeria, retired police AIG Hamma Misau has died at the National Hospital in Abuja. Mallam Misau died last night of an undisclosed illness at the age of 67.  Mallam Misau became famous after a photo of him taking a nap at the conference was shared  on social media three days ago.


Barrister Mohammed Hamma a cousin to the retired police officer confirmed his demise to SaharaReporters. He said a Muslim funeral is due shortly in Bauchi for the late delegate. Mallam Hamma Misau hails from Misau in Bauchi state.

Indian Mob Beats up Nigerian Tourist after he Missed his Way in India

 A Nigerian tourist who lost his way in India was chased and thrashed by a mob that suspected him of being  a terrorist or a member of an Indian guerrilla group, known as the Naxalites. According to The Times of India, the Nigerian identified as Clinton Osemwegi Igbinosun was attacked during late night hours of Wednesday. He sustained serious injuries, lost all his cloths and fell into an open sewer puddle as he fled for his life through the lanes of the village of Allapalli, located in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, India

Obama agents sent home from Europe for getting drunk

In a new embarrassment for the US Secret Service, three agents were sent home from Amsterdam for drunkenness, after one was found passed out in a hotel hallway.

The agents were in The Netherlands ahead of US President Barack Obama's trip there this week as part of the elite unit tasked with protecting the president in the event of an attack.
Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary confirmed to AFP Wednesday "three employees were sent home for disciplinary reasons," without giving any further details.
The story was first reported in the Washington Post newspaper, which said the agents have been placed on administrative leave, citing three unnamed people familiar with the case.

Court cancels collection of toll on Lekki-Ikoyi bridge

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, today cancelled the collection of any toll or tariff on the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge. Ruling on the suit, which was filed by human rights lawyer, Ebun Adegboruwa, presiding judge, Justice Saidu, J. held that the power of control over all navigable waterways in Nigeria resides in the Federal Government, and not any state government. He held that from all the documents made available to the court, the only justification for the toll fee on the bridge by Lagos State is the private partnership law. However, he noted that the law could not apply to the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge since it was built with the money of the Lagos State Government, without the involvement of any private partnership. “Thus, since there is no law supporting the toll fee, it is illegal and should be stopped forthwith”, Justice Saidu said.

In his latest project playfully titled 'For The Love of Dog,' Philadelphia-based lifestyle photographer Chris Sembrot created these portraits of dog lovers French-kissing their four-legged pals. And Sembrot says his aim is to try and change people's attitude towards such displays of unconditional love.

Woman strips self naked to avoid arrest

A woman alleged to have kidnapped a 10-year-old girl stripped herself to avoid arrest, yesterday, at the Ajegunle Police Division.



The woman, said to have identified herself as a serving Assistant Commissioner of Police, allegedly kidnapped the primary school pupil who was on her way to school, at Barra Street.

Eyewitnesses said the attention of some passers-by was attracted following the pupil’s fruitless effort to free herself from Comfort’s grip.

An eyewitness, who gave his name as Mr. Joseph Ogbonna, said: “Out of curiosity, we decided to find out what the problem was and the girl said she did not know the woman. But Comfort said she was taking her child to Area B Command.
