A former male Australian fashion model who had built a reputation on his androgynous looks has undergone sex reassignment surgery and is now a transgender woman.

Andreja – formerly Andrej – Pejic, 22, went public about her decision on Wednesday and revealed that going forward she will only be modeling women's fashion.

Pejic has been making waves in the modeling world due to her androgynous looks since being discovered as a teenager working at McDonald's.

Until now she had modeled both men's and women's collections in fashion shows and appeared on the cover of magazines such as Elle and New York.

Photo: Husband batters wife's face because of a piece of fish

 

Mrs. Fatima Bankole, 34, was battered by her husband, Alhaji Kamoru Bankole, for taking piece of fish from the pot to break her fast.

The victim is first of three wives of Alhaji Kamoru, at residing at Hasan Close, Alasia, Ijanikin in Lagos State. The bruising attack happened on  the 16th of July, when the third wife reported to their husband that their senior wife took fish from the soup to break her fast. The husband, according to witnesses, did not listen to her excuse before attacking her.
According to the victim, Mrs. Fatima Bankole, their husband had always physically abused her, but the incidence of  July 16th was more brutal.
She narrated that they had made a roster between two wives, due to the absence of the third wife who was away at the period, to cook for 15 days each. The victim said she had completed her period, and it was turn of the last wife. She said they would normally serve the husband first, followed by the

Liberian Man With Ebola Virus In Lagos Dies

Mr. Patrick Sawyer, a WASH consultant at the Ministry of Finance, who had been quarantined since falling ill after arriving in the Nigerian state of Lagos for a conference last Sunday, has died, allafrica.com says.

A Liberian government official, speaking on condition of anonymity said the news of Sawyer's death was relayed to Liberia by the Nigerian embassy, early Friday morning.

Nigerian government health authorities announced Thursday that Sawyer, 40 was being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria's commercial capital, Lagos. Sawyer's death is the first recorded case of one of the world's deadliest diseases in Nigeria.

How to Prevent You & Your Family From the Deadly Ebola Virus

The Lagos State Government yesterday confirmed a possible case of Ebola Virus, which is been currently investigated while treatment is on for the 40 year old Liberian, who is now a suspect, and a possible 30 others who may have had contact with him. 

  

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Public Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina, in a briefing noted that the 40 year old Liberian is in a private hospital in the Obalende area of the State. And that the hospital housing the Liberian has been cordoned off and the victim isolated.

However, there's the need for all of us, even if you are not in Lagos, to watch out and stay safe. Here are some tips:

Doctors in India have extracted 232 teeth from the mouth of a 17-year-old boy in a seven-hour operation.

Ashik Gavai was brought in with a swelling in his right jaw, Dr Sunanda Dhiware, head of Mumbai's JJ Hospital's dental department, told the BBC. The teenager had been suffering for 18 months and travelled to the city from his village after local doctors failed to identify the cause of the problem.
Doctors eventually described his condition as "very rare" and "a world record"and diagnosed it as a complex composite odontoma where a single gum forms lots of teeth.

The impressive digestive feat was captured by Indian animal rescuer Nitish Bambhaniya in the tiny village of Billa in the Indian state of Gujarat. An Arab national who managed to earn more than SR1.2 million through beggary was arrested in Yanbu. Col. Fahd Al-Ghanam, spokesman of Madinah Police, said that police squads nabbed the man after he was found begging in dubious circumstances.
They discovered huge amount of money from his custody.
Investigations revealed that the man was assisted by his wife and three children. All of them were staying in the Kingdom illegally.
Security authorities seized cash and other valuables worth SR1.2 million from them. Ghanam said the millionaire beggar managed to obtain an investor license from a Gulf country.
