Model and ex-Big Brother Africa winner, Karen Igho talks about her fashion and style

Model and ex-Big Brother Africa winner, Karen Igho tells Ademola Olonilua about her fashion and style

Do you wear your natural hair at all?

I'd rather rock my natural hair than weaves . Natural hair is easier to maintain than weaves and it is more convenient.

But do you have a favourite hairstyle?

I love braiding my hair. Braids are versatile and can be packed or styled in different ways. It's also cheaper than weaves and easier to maintain.  There is no stress to it at all. There are no bad hair days with braids. I can roll out of the bed and go out with my braids without doing anything to it. That is impossible with weaves.

Does it cost you so much to braid your hair?

It depends on the hair style and the hairdresser. Braids don't cost as much as weaves. I won't put a price to it but I spend enough to look good. No ridiculous amounts though because I don't wear any hairstyle for long.

How often do you visit a salon?

I visit the salon every week. The nature of my job as a showbiz personality does not give me the luxury of keeping hair for any time longer than a week.

How long does it take to make your hair?

It depends on whether it's braids or weaves. Weave is a maximum of two hours but braids can take as long as a whole day, depending on the length.

Do you feel incomplete without your make-up on?

I love looking natural. I always prefer natural look or light make-up over the heavy ones. I can do with or without makeup. I don't feel like anything is missing without it.

You really love tattoos.

Yes I'm a tattoo lover and I have a number of them.

Do you think they are fashionable and do they have a meaning?

As I said earlier, I have a number of tattoos, so I must think highly of them. Yes they have meanings. Meanings I won't go into because my tattoos are my private life.

Do you patronise Nigerian designers?

I buy both foreign and Nigerian labels. I don't favour any over the other. It all depends on the occasion and the designs readily available at the time the need arises for them. And then again, our Nigerian designers are very talented and have taken fashion to a whole new level. A lot of our Nigerian designers are now recognised at international level and make clothes of the same quality. So, why won't I patronise them? I am a proudly Nigerian babe and I always identify with my own.

To you, is there a clear cut difference between fashion and style?

I believe your style is your fashion. It all depends on how you combine the things you want to wear and matching the right colours and outfits for the right occasion. As for me, I always ensure I wear the dresses; the dresses don't wear me.

What influences your fashion trend?

I really don't know.  I honestly don't have anything I can pinpoint as an influence on my fashion trend. I know I love the good things of life and also quality things.

What is that fashion item you can't leave home without and how did you come about it?

There's nothing I can't leave home without. I don't have any 'must have on' fashion item, not even a make-up item. I never attach unnecessary importance to any item. Won't I go out if I don't have the item available in an emergency?

What's the most expensive item you own and how much did it cost?

My most expensive possession has to be my house. Of course, I won't say the price it costs but that is the most expensive item I have.

Do you have a fashion weakness?

Shoes! Shoes! Shoes and more shoes! I can never have enough shoes. I have a strong weakness for shoes. I own lots of shoes, a whole lot. My whole house is filled with shoes. I've even lost count of the number of shoes I own.

How is it competing with men in the industry?

Competing? With who? Why? See, the industry is big enough for everyone, so there is no need for any form of competition or rivalry. There is enough space for both men and women. But after all is said and done, staying relevant so far has been God.

Would you say your celebrity status scares men away from you?

It attracts and it scares men away too. It scares some because not every man can handle or understand fame. It takes a strong and understanding man to be able to be with a female celebrity. The attracting aspect comes from when they just want to be with you because they want to be able to say 'I've been with Karen Igho.' It takes God's grace to be able to sift the chaff from the wheat.

Are you in a relationship?

I'm not in any relationship at the moment because I need to concentrate on building my career. I have a lot ahead of me. Love is unpredictable though; if my man comes along the way, then it is all well and good.

What do you admire in a man?

Confidence. If a man is decked up from head to toe in a designer label but lacks confidence, then he is lacking the most important fashion accessory of them all. Arrogance should not be confused for confidence though. There's a very thin line and it should not be crossed.

What is your take on cleavage exposure and ladies wearing skimpy and tight dresses?

Whatever rocks anybody's boat; anything that makes anyone happy, the person should go for it. Who am I to judge? So far they feel comfortable in the dress and they are rocking the dress properly, that is okay for them.

You recently became a British citizen, how did it happen?

Yes I did. I lived in the UK for ten years and fulfilled all other necessary requirements to make me a British citizen and I did become one.

Do you intend to leave Nigeria for UK in the near future?

No. I'm still a Nigerian citizen. I'll forever be a Nigerian. I have Nigerian blood flowing through my veins. I still have my Nigerian passport. Nigeria is my home anytime any day, no matter how far I travel, where I travel to, how long I'm gone for, I always yearn to come back to my fatherland.

What are the challenges you face while building your brand?

It has not been easy but I thank God. We Nigerians find it easy to believe everything we hear about celebrities and some of these false stories can put a dent in anyone's image or brand. So staying afloat of the scandals and different stories has been by the grace of God.

What are you currently working on?

I've been going from one set to another, shooting different movies. Also, the shoot for my reality television show will soon start. I also have a charity event I'm working on.

At Synagogue, God Has Been Using Our Critics As Our Advertisement - Prophet TB Joshua

Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua of the Synagogue Church of all Nations, in a new interview with Punch, spoke about his church and how he handles his 'haters'.
Excerpts:
Why is it that your ministry seems to be more popular outside Nigeria than in Nigeria?
As it is written in the Bible, a prophet has no honour in his country. If my people had understood the work from the beginning, it could have affected the glory of God in my life today.
I may not be accepted by some people in Nigeria but my acceptance in the world has been announcing me to my world. When you look at the people working with me, you see that the ratio of Nigerians working with me are not more than 10 per cent.
Sometimes when I see some ministries printing handbills, using signboards to advertise their church, I say those things are not necessary. God is the one inviting people, if you allow him to do it, the solution to their problems will be waiting for them.
At synagogue, our critics are our advertisement. They are people that don't want to hear about us. They tell other people that 'that church is devilish;' unknowingly, some of the people they tell get inquisitive and they will want to come here and see what a devil looks like since they haven't seen one before.
God has been using this as advertisement for us. Ninety per cent of people who come here do so in the bid to come and verify what they had heard about this church.
When some of them get here, they will sit at the back, fearing that they could be hurt. Some put on dark glasses or disguise in a way that will not allow people that know them to recognize them.
But before the service is over, some of them will pick up their bags and move to the front seats. They eventually become my prayer warriors.
Let me tell you something that amazes me and that I always thank God for – those who are with me are more than those that are against me.
They keep supporting me all over the world. I have more, more, more people around the world. Whenever I say this, tears flow from my eyes (sobs for a while).
These are tears of joy. I get so sad when I hear people's confession when their eyes become open to what God is doing here. Some say, 'I wish I had known this, my mum would not have died. She asked me to bring her here but because of what I was hearing about this place, I refused until she died. I hope that she will forgive me."'

Reader's Mail: Please Help, My Husband Just Got Duped!

Hello Unilagparole, am a graduate of Unilag and I desperately need fellow readers' advice.

The problem now is that the person my husband gave part of d money that will help him procure a visa doesn't pick his calls again instead he changed his line.
The person that introduced my husband to the said guy is now talking rubbish and this is our last hope.

Please, what do we do? Your advice is highly needed. Thanks

Saheed Balogun Drags ExWife Fathia To Court Over Her Refusal To Drop His Name

Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun has reportedly dragged his ex-wife Fathia Balogun to court over her refusal to stop bearing his last name, years after their marriage ended.

According to Punch, Saheed Balogun had once said in an interview that he would stop her Fathia Balogun, from using his name when he was ready, saying:
She is my ex. As for my name that she is still answering, the deed will be
done soon. The Nigerian law says that after three or four years, you can do something about it. If somebody wants to keep my name, what of the new person coming in? This has nothing to do with grudges."

And now, it seems Saheed is ready to do something about his threat.

Fathia on the other hand is insisting that nobody could stop her from using her name.
Fathia had said last year in an interview:
I laugh, my name is Fathia Balogun and it's going to remain Balogun; nobody can ever change that and nobody can stop me from answering that name."

When Saturday Beats contacted Saheed and Fathia to confirm they are in court, both refused to talk about it.

Easy ways to give her org*sms

These days, most women want orgasms. That wasn't always the case. A couple of generations or so ago, many adult females simply didn't have climaxes – and a lot of them weren't bothered about it. Probably, a lot of them didn't actually know what an orgasm was.

And some doctors claimed that, for a huge proportion of women, it was 'normal' to have no experience of orgasm. Indeed, as late as the 1970s, there were still some who maintained that the female orgasm didn't exist – and was simply a myth made up by the media.

All that has changed now. These days, medical opinion is that every woman should be able to have orgasms – if she wants to. Furthermore, the view of most sex experts is that the majority of women are capable of multiple orgasms – if they wish to have them. In general, the ability to have multiple orgasms is greater in more matured women.

What is a female orgasm? Am writing this explanation in the assumption that you – the reader – are male. But what follows will be of interest to a lot of female readers too.

What happens in a woman's body during a climax is very much like what happens in your (male) body when you ejaculate. In other words, there's a feeling of increasing excitement, building up to a point where everything 'blows' in a great blast of ecstasy. This 'orgasmic moment' is characterised by surges of contractions in the sex organs, occurring almost every 0.8 seconds.

Men are well aware that these throbs of pleasure are accompanied by the pumping out of spurts of seminal fluid. Obviously, this doesn't happen in women.

A few females do produce some fluid at orgasm, but the impression given in so many erotic stories that most women 'ejaculate' is not correct. Only a minority of females do this.

Multiple orgasms The other big difference between male and female orgasm is this: after the first climax, many women can 'come' again, often within a minute or two.

This ability is extremely rare in males. Relatively few young women can achieve multiple orgasms, because it's an ability that usually has to be learned. But with the help of a skilled lover, most women can eventually achieve the capacity for multiple orgasms – if they so desire.

Bringing your women to a climax For men, perhaps, the most important thing to realise about female climaxes is that with women, it's not a mechanical thing – as it generally is with men.

You see, most males will ejaculate quite quickly if they have their penises rubbed. This applies even if the circumstances aren't very romantic – or even if they don't particularly like the person who's doing the rubbing! Women are not like this. Female orgasm isn't a push-button response. The conditions have to be right.

Although females vary, many women need the following if they're going to reach a climax easily:
•    A romantic atmosphere

•    Pleasant, comfortable surroundings

•    A partner who they really like

•    A feeling of being wanted and appreciated

•    A good flow of natural lubrication – so that the delicate female parts don't get sore

•    A skilled partner who knows how to stimulate the clitoris.

Unless you can provide the above, you are not going to have great success in giving your wife orgasms.

Please bear in mind that – contrary to what many men think – sexual intercourse by itself is not likely to produce an orgasm. This is because intercourse alone is not very good at stimulating the woman's clitoris. Nearly all females need additional stimulation of the clitoris by fingers or mouth.

So, try not to give the impression to your wife that she 'ought' to be able to climax through intercourse alone and that that is what you think of as 'proper sex'. The sex menu can be a varied one. Some women, for example, find it really easy to climax through oral sex – particularly if the guy is patient and sensitive to what his partner wants. And how does he find out what she wants and what turns her on? Well, a wise man will ask her.

What he should not do is to assume that his technique is flawless and that if his partner does not come, it's her fault. Plenty of men think that because a previous girlfriend always came a certain way, this one should follow suit. Women are not all the same in their likes or dislikes. So do try to treat your partner as an individual.

Many women like much more foreplay or loveplay than men imagine. They want to feel that the man is keen on giving pleasure – and not just in a hurry to have his own climax. In fact, the worst thing a man can say to a woman is: 'Haven't you come yet?' This is likely to make her feel extremely inadequate and will ruin any build-up of sexual pleasure and tension that might have been taking place.

What to do In summary, here's what to do if you want to bring your partner to orgasm regularly: Don't be in a rush.

Don't be too demanding – it's not an Olympic event.*wink* Chill nigga

Talk to your partner, and ask her what she wants you to do to her.

Always create a romantic atmosphere.

Make sure that everything is comfortable and nice for her. *activate da bitchy mode*

Give her lots of kisses and cuddles before you even think about making any approach to her sexual area.

When you do start to stroke, rub or kiss her genitals, don't rush into 'attacking' her clitoris. Take things gently, and see what she wants.

Use her own natural lubrication to moisten her clitoris. (If she is over 40, it may be a good idea to use some additional lubrication from a chemist or a sex shop). 40 aint bad to do *winks*

Remember that stimulation of the clitoris is the key to female orgasm.

Sometimes encourage her to 'run' your sex sessions. You can learn a lot by watching how she stimulates herself or by really listening to her when she suggests a sex position, or a particular caress.

FG deploys policemen to federal universities

The Federal Government has directed the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, to deploy policemen to all federal universities in the country  in its bid to ensure  resumption of academic activities in universities on or before December 4.

Saturday PUNCH learnt this development was disclosed  at  an emergency meeting   the Federal Government held  with  all vice-chancellors of federal universities at the National Universities Commission building in Abuja on Friday. The Acting Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, and the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Prof Julius Okojie, were also at the meeting.

Though Friday's meeting was held behind closed door, a source at the meeting who craved anonymity because he was not authorised to speak with the press, told Saturday PUNCH  that the Federal Government  directed the IG  to draft policemen to federal universities to prevent members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities from disturbing some of their members that might want to resume work in line with government's directive.

The meeting, Saturday PUNCH further learnt, also  discussed other  modalities for calling off the bluff of ASUU whose members  have been on strike for over five months.

The Friday meeting began at 9am and lasted for two hours. Part of the meeting's deliberations, Saturday PUNCH gathered, also centred on how to recruit new lecturers to fill the space of ASUU members who might refuse to obey government's  directive.  Also, the vice-chancellors were directed to call students back to campus on Sunday in preparation  for academic activities which should start on Monday.

Wike, had on Thursday  ordered  lecturers to resume duties on or before December 4 or face being sacked summarily by the Federal Government.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that already Okojie had been mandated to  start the process of recruiting new lecturers by placing vacancy adverts in international journals and media.

Also, the vice-chancellors were directed  to open registers in their institutions where ASUU members that resume work would sign so that those who failed to resume could be sacked.

Saturday PUNCH further learnt that the Federal Government was planning to adopt the Ghanaian method where lecturers were asked to re-apply for their jobs after two years of strike.

"Not all lecturers are members of ASUU. Most professors don't belong to the union,  people think every lecturer in public university is a member of ASUU, which is not true. Government means business this time around and it is going to call  off the bluff of ASUU,'' the source explained.

Nigerian universities are currently in need of at least 30,000 lecturers because of acute shortage of lecturers in the university system..

There are also indications that the Federal Government and university lecturers may be   heading for a clash as the  December 4 deadline given by the Federal Government for the lecturers to return to work is also the date set aside by ASUU to bury a former President of the union, Prof. Festus Iyayi.

The Federal Government had claimed it decided to go tough on ASUU because the union made fresh demands  in its letter to the government as  a condition for calling  off the lingering strike action.

ASUU had demanded payment of the four-month salary arrears of its members from July when the strike commenced and the release  of N200bn that President Goodluck Jonathan promised to inject into the university system within the next two weeks.

The union also said the agreement reached between it and the Federal Government  should be signed by the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General of the Federation.

Though  the  President of ASUU, Dr. Nasir Faggae,  refused to pick his calls and also did not respond to a text message  sent to him on the latest development, the  Enugu State Police Command confirmed that its men had been directed to man universities  to quell any protest that might result from the Federal Government's order on lecturers to resume work on or before Wednesday.

The command told Saturday PUNCH  that police officers had also  been directed to be stationed at the universities  to forestall any disturbance from various groups or lecturers on Monday.

"There is no cause for alarm and we are combat ready in the event of any violence or disturbance," the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, said.
"We are not going to their houses to force them to come and teach in the universities. Even though the Federal Government has taken a stance, we are not in the military rule to molest lecturers," he said.

But reacting to the latest development, the Chairman, ASUU, UNIBEN chapter, Emina-Monye, said ASUU members were not bothered about government's   latest  strategy.

He said, "They can go ahead with that. We are not perturbed. Let them call the police; let them advertise vacant positions and see how many international scholars will want to accept what Nigerian university lecturers are taking- let them go ahead."

Also, ASUU branch at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, said government's directive  was an attempt to waste students' time.

The UNIUYO ASUU Chairman, Dr. Nwachukwu Anyim, said in Uyo on Friday that Nigeria was no longer in  a military era  and so  lecturers could not  be coerced by anybody to work against their wish. He said, We will see how they will come to our homes and force us to resume work.

"Only the Federal Government  can tell the world what it has  in mind. We have a shortfall of 60,000 lecturers in the university system. If they are advertising this one, it means they must have an idea of where they are going to put them, and they must be people who are going to work without equipment."

However, the University of Nigeria chapter of ASUU  on Friday said its members would not resume work  until their demands are met.

The UNN-ASUU also described the Minister of Education,  Wike, as a "tout".

The union, however, told Saturday PUNCH that it won't react officially to Wike's order until President Goodluck Jonathan speaks.

"We have not heard from the President, so we cannot speak officially on the matter. It would be senseless to begin to react to a statement from Wike since he is a tout," said Dr. Ifeanyi Abada, Chairman of UNN-ASUU.

Abada said that Wike's order cannot hold and vowed that ASUU would unleash terror if the minister attempts to carry out the order.

"We stopped the late General Sani Abacha, so stopping Wike and these bloody civilians won't be any problem to us," Abada vowed.

Also, the Nigeria Labour Congress on Friday  described the action of Wike as hasty.

The  Acting General Secretary of the NLC, Mr. Chris Uyot, said in a telephone interview with  one of our correspondents  that Wike ought to have considered the circumstances that delayed the leadership of ASUU  from getting their resolutions to the government.

Uyot said that ASUU was not able to get the resolutions of the NEC meeting to the Federal Government because of the death of Iyayi.

Reacting to the latest development, Mr Femi Falana [SAN], said  President Goodluck Jonathan should call Wike  to order in the interest of the education system...He said  If Wike had familiarised himself with FG/ASUU face-off in the past two decades, even under the defunct military junta, he would have discovered that ASUU members had never been cowed to submission.

He said, "In 1992, the Ibrahim Babangida junta fired all lecturers and threatened to eject them from their official quarters. When the lecturers defied the junta a decree was promulgated which made strike by teachers a treasonable felony. ASUU also ignored the obnoxious decree  and called off the bluff of the military dictators. But at the end of the day it became clear to the regime that universities could not be run like military barracks. Hence the junta swallowed its pride, withdrew its empty threats and decided to honour the Agreement which it had rejected.''

Woolwich British Soldier's Murder: Adebolajo & Adebowale's Trial Begins

Six months after Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22, gruesomely murdered 25-year-old Lee Rigby in Woolwich, south London, their trial has begun in Old Baileys Court

The two defendants, both Britons of Nigerian descent, denied murdering Rigby, attempting to murder a police officer on the day Rigby died and conspiracy to murder a police officer.

So, during the trial, the jury was told not to be influenced by media reports of the events that led to Rigby's death, rather they were shown CCTV evidence of his painful final moments.

Trying to justify their act, one of the defendants had said:
The only reason we have killed this man today is because Muslims are dying daily by British soldiers, and this British soldier is one.
By Allah, if I saw your mother with a bucket, I would help her... But we are forced by the Koran that we must fight them as they fight us.
Prosecutors  also told the court that Adebolajo made a number of comments after he was shot by police.
These included:

I am a Muslim extremist, this may be the only chance you meet one. Your people have gone to Afghanistan and raped and killed our women, I am seeking retribution, I wouldn't stoop so low as to rape and kill women.
I did it for my God. I wish the bullets had killed me so I can join my friends and family... I want to thank the person who shot me, because it is what Allah would have wanted.
I love Allah more than my children."
Trial resumes on Monday.

Peter Okoye & Lola Omotayo's Authentic Love Story - Why She Wedded Him Despite Their Age Difference

This post is quite long, but it is very interesting, and would be much more interesting for readers who are not conversant with Peter and Lola's true love story.
It's culled from Encomium Weekly.
Enjoy!
Peter Obumneme Okoye of P-Square and Lola Omotayo's love story is compelling and amazing. The couple have been in a relationship for over eight years before they finally tied the knot on Sunday, November 17, 2013.

In an interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly in April 2008, the then Business development Director, FK:G2 (a top marketing outfit) had poured out her heart about her relationship with Peter:
My agency handles some of British American Tobacco brands and P-Square was doing a show for us at one of our events in Enugu. Though I had met Peter a couple of times before then, at the show there was some chemistry.
He asked for my number and I refused giving it to him. I told him if you really want to know me, you have to find my number. So he took it as a task and found my number and the rest is history."
Lola, said to be 35 back then, and the popular singer in his 20s, was not disturbed by the age difference.

Her defence:
Like I said, Peter is an old soul and he always tells me that I'm like a 23-year old. Age is just a number. Right now, you can see it around the world. Demi Moore, Usher and some known people. Even in Nigeria here, they are dating people far older than their age. So, we shouldn't base it on the age factor. He doesn't make me feel like he's younger than me."
On the future of their relationship, Lola who now has two children for the music super star had also told ENCOMIUM Weekly, she is not really particular about marriage.

The truth is I'm not particular about marriage. Marriage is not something you rush into. To me, it is over rated in Nigeria.
Here, they say marriage completes a woman, but I don't believe in that. There is so much that completes a woman and marriage is not it. I've never focused on that. I'm not the little girl who dreams of her wedding day. I'm not afraid to be alone.
I pray, I am not going to end up alone for the rest of my life, I want a life partner. But the tag, marriage is not something I think is the ultimate. I would take my time rather than rush into marriage only to later discover that it is not what to expect.
And Peter, as well, is dealing with his own career and he wants to focus on that. And you know, may be in a year's time, I would be ready to get marriage and if he's not ready then, we get to go our separate ways. The truth of the matter is that marriage is not in the picture for me right now."
Lola further narrated how she was struck by cupid's arrow: she confessed they were friends for a while before they got intimate:

"Not that long. He was too fine, so I had to kiss him. In the beginning, we were coming from different walks of life and there were later adjustments. When I'm into something, I'm into it, 100 percent. People just look at the social status thing. He's an entertainer, she's a career girl, but it's not about that. He's not the first artist I've dated, not a Nigerian though. He was an international act."
Peter of P-Square had always told his family and friends it is either Lola or nobody. Even when a former beauty queen and a struggling rapper allegedly got romantically involved with him, he had to disown her for the sake of his love for Lola Omotayo.

Despite their different cultural backgrounds and career paths, the popular artiste's love for Lola did not wane. Even when she got pregnant with their first baby, he didn't shy away from his responsibility.
"The pregnancy is mine and nothing on earth can make me deny it. After all, I didn't impregnate a street girl. The person carrying my baby is an independent and responsible lady who I love with all my heart. So, the baby is mine and I'm proud to be the father. As for marriage, I don't have plans for it yet."

Pretty Lola Omotayo, a native of Osogbo in Ifelodun local government of Osun State has obviously got more than she bargained for from her more than eight year romance with the Anambra-born Peter Okoye.
From leisure trips to exotic car gifts, the half-caste in her late 30s has been pampered far beyond her dreams by the singer whose songs are the toasts of many in Nigeria and beyond.

And now they have consummated their union the traditional way, their family, fans and associates are wishing them everlasting marital bliss.

Church of England To Allow Church Blessings For Gay Couples

Under consideration: The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, said the Church will now consider the recommendations
The Archbishops of Canterbury and York yesterday published the Report of the House of Bishops Working Group on Human Sexuality.
And according to it, gay couples should be allowed to have their relationships blessed in church.

DailyMail reports that the report, written by former civil servant Sir Joseph Pilling and a team of senior churchmen and women, was published seven months after the Church first indicated it is looking at 'accommodations' for same-sex couples and four months after the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, told Church leaders that 'we must accept there is a revolution in the area of sexuality.'

Recommendations: The report was put together by former civil servant Sir Joseph Pelling, pictured

It signals an end to the Church's longstanding insistence that gay relationships are sinful and less worthy than heterosexual marriage.
And may now open the way for a reversal of the CofE's opposition to same-sex marriage and the eventual appointment of actively homosexual priests and bishops

Archbishop Welby said yesterday that bishops will now 'consider the report and decide how such a process might best be shaped.'

Iceprince Explains Why He Initially Denied His Baby Jamal

When in March 2012, news went round that Iceprince had fathered a child with 20 years old Bimbo,  reported to be Jesse Jagz ex-girlfriend, the Jos-born-singer Ice Prince denied being responsible.
Only to flaunt his baby, Toluwalase Jamal, months later.

In a new interview with Showbizplus, Iceprince explained why he initially denied his baby.
How has fatherhood changed you?
It has taught me to save my money. It is a huge difference and a huge change in lifestyle. You become more matured.
You initially denied having a baby?
It was complicated back then, I didn't really know what was happening and I wasn't sure of certain things. So the best I had to do then was denying it and sort out things first. Now I know he is my child and I have done everything as a father ever since.
What is the relationship like with his mother?
I speak with her often and it is usually about the baby. That is all for now.
Have you started thinking about marriage?
No, I'm fully focused on my music.

After 20years of Marriage, Ghanaian Football Star, Odartey Lamptey Discovers His 3 Kids By Wife Are Not His!

This is according to multiple sources from Ghana and definitely the worst thing that can happen to any man.

Celebrated Ghanaian soccer superstar Nii Odartey Lamptey, is reportedly battling with serious marriage problems right now, after realizing his three kids with wife, Gloria are not his biological children.

According to Goal.com, Odartey spent his entire married life without knowing all three kids he had
called his own are not his real children.
Nii Odartey Lamptey had suspected his wife of infidelity for several years but decided to stay in the marriage out of love and the chain of businesses they own together.

But trouble reportedly started sometime last year, Gloria wanted Nii Lamptey to send their first daughter abroad to further her studies at a cost of £26,000 a year for three years.

Nii Lamptey objected, citing the fact that the expense was too much and recommending that his daughter schools in Ghana for her University education.
Gloria was reportedly incensed by her husband's stance and filed for divorce.

Nii Lamptey initially agreed to the divorce but delayed in his response because of his strong infidelity suspicions.
Footy-ghana.com understands that he secretly took samples from the three children and did a DNA test, which reportedly revealed that none of the three girls were fathered by him.

The woman now claims the former Anderlecht and Aston Villa player was the one who suggested an artificial insemination after realizing he was infertile.

Lamptey who is the owner of Golden Lions Soccer Academy and Glow Lamp International School is now heading to court for a divorce after over 20 years of marriage.

Safaree Samuels aka Scaff Beezy is letting the world know that his love for Nicki Minaj is real, even though Nicki is yet to officially announce him as her boyfriend.
Scaff Beezy and Nicki Minaj have been rumored love birds for a very long time, they've known each other before Nicki became famous.
But Nicki swears he is just her hypeman, more like a brother to her.

This week, Safaree showed off his new tattoo which took 6 long hours to make, and features a pink-haired Nicki with her tongue and 'most sought after' cleavage hanging out.
On why he got the tatt, SB explained:

A lot of people out there tattoo somebody that they don't know. Why not tattoo somebody that I know, you know?

Most Hollywood reporters believe this is the confirmation that these two are much more than they've been letting on. I think that's a real hot tattoo!!

Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher Are Finally, Legally Divorced!

Nearly two years after they announced the end of their six-year marriage, Demi Moore and ex-husband Ashton Kutcher are finally, legally divorced.

According to TMZ, the couple's split was finalized on Nov. 26.

And the reason it took them this long was because they were squabbling over money.
Demi had initially wanted spousal support even though she was worth way more millions than Ashton.
She later backed off that claim... but Ashton had to give her somewhat more than he had to before they reached a financial settlement.

Peter Okoye Slams Emmy Collins - "That Nigga Must Be Frustrated"

*lmao* Emmy Collins, where art thou?!

So, here's how the parole went.
3 days ago, Emmy Collins in his usual critiquing style had written a post about Peter and his pals' wedding outfit.
And according to Emmy, he just couldn't understand why Peter and his friends decided to deck themselves in hideous polyester kaftans.

Emmy had written:
If you guys don`t offer accolades to me for restraining myself from critiquing Lola and
Peter Okoye during their wedding, I will claim it in Jesus name, Amen.
Yes, there were enough talking points from that wedding yet I refused to touch them even to the extent that a few comments insinuated that I was playing what someone described as "Pasha".
Well, I must say that Peter and the dudes on this image were totally off the mark when they decided to deck themselves in this hideous polyester kaftans.

As if the fabrics weren't disastrous enough, the quality of stitching employed in putting it together compares with the worst I have witnessed so far considering the fact that it is Peter`s wedding for crying out loud and of course he is not short of a bob or two.
Before you move on to the next image, please work your eyes to the hemming of the kaftans especially that of the guys that are flanking Peter on the left and right.

Peter obviously didn't find Emmy's statements funny at all.

Meanwhile, here's what Emmy had written about Lola and Peter's wedding.

Peter and Lola Okoye
Marriage isn`t something you hop into willy nilly. It is a lifetime contract so it is utterly diabolic to delve into it because of pressure from interlopers or peers.
I'm absolutely pleased that these love birds did it at their own time. I am not a fan of weddings but I could have literally paid money for an invite to this one, lol ok,perhaps not. Marriages such as this reinforces my belief that it is always better to do this at your own pace and with the right person.
I wish them all that their hearts desire. I don`t know Peter that much but I know that Lola is a lovely lady.
Funny enough, some of the ladies, actually Lola`s friends that were talking crap about her will feature at this wedding with their iro and buba in all their pretentiousness.

PS: The guy said something sensible buh i think he went to far with the dress ish

Beyonce ‘banned’ from Visiting The Egyptian Pyramids after her ‘stupid and rude’ behaviour!

Not impressed: Controversial archaeologist Zahi Hawess claims he has banned Beyonce from the Egyptian Pyramids after her 'rude' behaviour during a tour in 2009
She is adored by her millions of fans and has even earned the nickname Queen B.

But Beyonce failed to impress the man known as Egypt's Indiana Jones when she visited the country in 2009.

Zahi Hawass, Egypt's former head of antiquities, claims he banned the singer from visiting the Pyramids after her 'stupid and rude' behaviour.

The star visited Egypt back in 2009 as part of her I Am… Tour, where she toured the pyramids with Hawass.

But according to the Huffington Post, the controversial archaeologist bad-mouthed the star to local reporters back then, allegedly calling her a 'stupid person' who 'doesn't understand a thing'.

Now, in a new interview, Hawass, 66, claims the Love On Top singer arrived late for her tour of the ancient site.

'Most people I take on tours are very nice and we become friends. But this lady…,' the former minister of state antiquities told The Independent.

'She said she would come at 3pm but she came late. I said "You have to say I'm sorry I'm late". But she didn't open her mouth,' said Hawass, who is described as the 'gatekeeper' of the pyramids.

The last straw came when Beyonce's photographer allegedly almost hit Hawass.

'I brought a photographer and she also had a photographer and a guard. When my photographer started to shoot, he said "No, Stop! I am the one who says yes or no, not you!" 'I said: "In that case since you almost hit my photographer and you are not polite – out! I am not giving you the privilege of having you on my tour!" I said Beyoncé was stupid and I left.'

Et
However, Beyonce's rep told E! News the story was a 'lie'. 'This never happened,' said the rep. 'The last time she was in Egypt was on tour in 2009. Nothing like this happened. Lies and more lies.' Hawass is a controversial figure who has been criticised for his love of the spotlight.

During the interview, he boasted about his fame.

'People attack me because I am famous. When I took President Obama to Giza, the camel driver recognised me and he asked "But who is the friend of Hawass?" When I gave a lecture at your Dome of the Millennium 1,700 came to hear me. Bill Clinton got 700.'
F
Hawass is currently under investigation from the US Justice Department for allegedly accepting a $200,000-a-year pay packet from National Geographic to allow the magazine access to the Pyramids and other sites.

He is also branching out into fashion.

According to Vanity Fair, he has launched a clothing line that focuses on khakis, leather jackets and denim shirts, with profits said to be going to the Children's Cancer Hospital in Cairo.

STRIKE: FG gives ASUU one week ultimatum to call off strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has been given one week ultimatum to call off the ongoing strike.

The directive was given today, in Abuja by the acting Minister of Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike while speaking with journalists.

The union has been on strike since July 1 over the non Implementation of a 2009 agreement with the federal government.

According to reports, the lecturers at their NEC meeting last week in Kano, demanded that government should pay the four-month salary arrears being owed varsity lecturers while there should be immediate implementation of the N1.2tn offered by the government to public varsities, starting with the release of N100bn this year, before the strike can be called off.

A demand the acting Minister Wike had described as ,"outrageous."

Meantime, ASUU had said it would meet with President Jonathan on the decisions reached at its NEC meeting before any announcement will be made concerning the 5months old strike.

7 Reasons Your Periods Might Get Delayed Aside Pregnancy

Here are the seven most likely reasons your period might be late besides pregnancy …

1. A Change In Your Regular Routine: Did you start a new job? Change your wakeup time? Go on vacation? It can take your body a little time to adjust to a change in your regular routine and that can impact your regular cycle, especially if the change started at the time you would normally ovulate, causing a delay or even a skipped cycle.
2. Stress: Your emotions, particularly stress, can have a major impact on the regularity of your menstrual cycle. And if you're stressing about why your period is late, that could actually delay its arrival even more. Mother Nature is a cruel mistress!

3. Illness: Being sick at the time you normally would ovulate can delay ovulation — and if you ovulate late, you'll get your period late. So if your period hasn't arrived on schedule, think back a few weeks — were you under the weather?

4. Pill Poppin': Taking a new medication or changing the dosage on an existing medication can affect all aspects of your body's well-being, including your menstrual cycle — that's why your doctor, including your gynecologist, always wants to know each and every medication that you're on.

5. Weight Issues: A major change in your weight — either by gaining a lot or losing a lot of weight — can throw your ovulation cycle off. People who are underweight or extremely overweight sometimes don't have a period at all — which is not very healthy. Overall, an incredibly wonky or nonexistent period is a sign of possible health issues.

6. Exercising Excessively: Have you been hitting Soul Cycle every day after work? Training for a marathon? If you've taken up a new and intense exercise routine, your period might be thrown off. In fact, people who engage in extreme physical activity sometimes see their periods delayed.

7. Miscalculation: The average menstrual cycle is 28 days, but many, many women have shorter or longer cycles and don't chart them correctly — so it may be that your period is not actually late. Additionally, the majority of women have cycles that are irregular and don't necessarily realize it. If your period is early even by a few days one month, it may arrive late the following month.

Sharia Police Smash 240,000 Bottles Of Beer In Kano! (Photos)

In their latest move to put a stop to behaviour deemed 'immoral', the Police enforcing Islamic law in Kano state on Wednesday, destroyed 240,000 bottles of beer they had confiscated from trucks coming into the city.

According to AFP, the Sharia law enforcers called Hisbah, launched sweeping crackdowns in Kano since September, following a state government directive to cleanse the commercial state of "immoral" practices.

So, on Wednesday, a large bulldozer smashed the confiscated bottles to shouts of  "Allahu Ahkbar" (God is great) from supporters outside the Hisbah headquarters in Kano.
Kegs containing more than 8,000 litres of a local alcoholic brew called burukutu and 320,000 cigarettes were also destroyed.

Kano's Hisbah chief, Aminu Daurawa, at the bottle-breaking ceremony,  said he had the ardent hope this will bring an end to the consumption of such prohibited substances. We hope this measure will help restore the tarnished image of Kano," said Daurawa.

The 9,000-strong moral police force works alongside the civilian police but also has other duties, including community development work and dispute resolution.
Alcohol is typically easy to find in Kano, including at hotels and bars in neighbourhoods like Sabon Gari, inhabited by the city's sizeable Christian minority. But the Hisbah boss vowed that this was set to change.

"We hereby send warning to unrepentant offenders that Hisbah personnel will soon embark on an operation into every nook and cranny of the state to put an end to the sale and consumption of alcohol and all other intoxicants," Daurawa said.

Reader's Mail: Is This Appropriate?

Hello Parole,

I've got a complain that I think Upbers and the whole of Nigeria should know. Hopefully this will get to the appropriate authorities and this disgraceful act would end immediately...

It's about the Nigerian police (specifically Rivers State Police)!

A family friend got a phone call from alleged kidnappers and they threatened the living daylights outta him and his lovely family. So, he did the proper thing by reporting this case to the police.
But alas!!! He was asked by the police for N80,000 for what they termed "logistics purposes". That they needed the money for fuel, recharge cards and many bullsh*ts I can't remember.

Is this not disgraceful that a noble and dedicated citizen of this country will be made to pay the police before they investigate a delicate matter as kidnapping?!

Why I am sending you this is because it happened to me too!
I was robbed, but thankfully, the police recovered everything that was stolen from me but before I could retrieve it, I had to pay.

So please, I want you to put this up on your blog so that the whole nation will see what our supposed security agencies have become.
Unless there are people here who think this act by the police is ok. Let them talk now.

Comedian Julius Agwu sues Etisalat for N100m over blocked line

Comedian Julius Agwu has dragged telecoms giant Etisalat to court for blocking his business line. He is demanding for N100million as compensation for jobs lost, contact lost, for the inconveniences, and for being mistreated by Etisalat staff. Below is a statement from his lawyer, Festus Keyamo...
We are solicitors to Mr. Julius Agwu, one of Nigeria's most sought after entertainers (hereinafter referred to as "our client") and on whose behalf we write.
Our client is the owner of the Etisalat GSM phone number 08189555555, which he uses as his business line. On the 8th of October, 2013, our client travelled out of the country and returned on the 17th of the same month. Upon his return, he tried severally to make calls from the aforestated GSM line but same could not connect. Not only could he not make calls, he also could not receive calls on the said GSM line. This continued for some days until he got a message that his line had been blocked by the network provider.

Sequel to the above message, our client promptly visited your Abuja office at Hilton to report the matter. He was attended to by one Miss Joan, who informed him that somebody swapped his line. After our client successfully answered the security questions put to him, he was informed that his line had been restored, but the credit balance on the line was not returned.

Surprisingly, our client's aforestated line was blocked again after he left your said Abuja office. Once again our client visited your office at the local wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja, Lagos to lodge a complaint, but painfully, nothing was done about it.

However, after sometime, our client was invited for a meeting at your head office in Lagos on the 14th of November, 2013 which he duly honoured. Present at the meeting (in addition to the officials of your organization) was Mr. Mobolaji Okusaga, the Managing Director of The Quadrant Company, in his capacity as media agents/managers for Etisalat Nigeria.

At the end of the meeting, our client was told for the umpteenth time that they would get back to him, which they again failed to do.

LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

It cannot be over emphasized that your actions of unlawfully blocking and/or swapping our client's line occasioned loss of business opportunities to him. As you are aware, our client as one of the most sought after Nigerian entertainers needs his phone line to be easily accessible to keep his business going. It therefore goes without saying that our client has lost some business opportunities as a result of your actions.

TAKE NOTICE that we have our client's firm instruction to demand and hereby demand the sum of N100,000,000.00 (One Hundred Million Naira) as compensation for the loss of business opportunities and the inconvenience caused our client by reason of your unlawful and unjustified blocking and/or swapping of our client's Etisalat GSM phone line.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that in the event that you fail, refuse or neglect to accede to our above stated demand within seven (7) days from the receipt of this letter, we shall be compelled to set in motion against you, all legal machineries necessary to obtain legal remedy for our client.

Thank you.
Yours sincerely,

FESTUS KEYAMO, ESQ.

Lamar Odom reportedly demands $10m to end his marriage to Khloe

This report is from National Enquirer so maybe y'all should take it with a pinch of salt... They are  claiming Lamar is demanding $10million in hush money from Khloe plus he wants his ring back..

From The National Enquirer
Lamar Odom is demanding $10m to end his 4-year marriage to Khloe Kardashian!
Sources say the troubled NBA star has also taken a page out of his fellow hoopster Kris Humphries' playbook by demanding Khloe's $875,000 engagement ring back before he'll agree to zip his lips about the K-clan's secrets. Humphries got Kim Kardashian to return her $2 million engagement ring as part of their divorce agreement following their 72- day marriage in 2011. Odom, 34, laid out his conditions after "momager" Kris Jenner ordered Khloe, 29, to sit down with their attorneys and hammer out a divorce deal, an insider says.
"Kris and Khloe are very worried about Lamar. He's a loose cannon, and he has a lot of dirt on the family and nothing to lose," a source told The ENQUIRER. "He knows all about their extreme surgery procedures – when, how often and how much – and the pressure put on the younger girls to follow suit."
"Lamar is also prepared to destroy Khloe's reputation by discussing their sex tape, and how she targeted him and tore his family apart."
Meanwhile, with statistics showing the Kardashian family's popularity is plummeting, matriarch Kris apparently wants the divorce deal done ASAP. "Kris is insisting on a confidentiality agreement to ensure Lamar can never discuss his life with the Kardashians either in print or verbally," noted the source. "He's not signing anything until they cough up the dough."

In Defence Of Lola Omotayo Okoye - Deschil

This post was written by Deschil:
Each time I read the nasty comments about Lola Omotayo Okoye my heart gets heavy. I do not know her in person- just like most of you. She has been called "old", "shameless" even a "gold digger"! Some "kind" people even empathize with her and "understand" that Peter married her because of her kids.
Let's get a few things straight;
Nobody has the right to choose another person's spouse
I was in school with Psquare, Peter had a girlfriend-Ada-whom he was crazy about. Ada is a splitting image of Lola...does that imply anything?
Age is not the determinant of a good marriage; either party could be older
Prince Charles married "much younger" Diana, how did that go? How old is his present wife-whom he loved all along?
Prince Williams forsook all the "younger girls" in England and married an older bride
Sullivan Chime married a "much younger" Clara; again, how did that go
For those who went as far as calling Lola a runs girl, who sleeps with her "uncles", do you know this lady? Do you know this for a fact or is it just hear say? Why defame an innocent lady who is minding her own business? Do you think Peter is a fool?
For those who justify these rumours with the story of her living in a "mansion" in Ikoyi-shebi you people say she is old? Do you know she has a career, did you expect that at her "old age" she wouldn't have risen through the ranks?
For those of you who see only young brides as a wise choice, it is because you haven't gotten married yet. There are some childish attributes the young wife will have that will make you almost regret the marriage-that is if you don't do that eventually
Peter knew very well what he was doing. He wants peace, companionship and joy. A mature and experienced mother for his kids. He saw all the "young girls" world over before he made his beautiful choice.

Photos: Healing River Discovered In Nachi, Oji In Enugu State

A healing river was reportedly discovered in Nachi Oji River in Enugu State, last week.
A mystery to the people of Nachi for decades nick named the "Pool of Bethsaida" and appears every 20 years, as confirmed by the indigenes.

This year, the pool was discovered by fulani herdsmen who were on their way to feed their cattle. According to them, they passed the spot where the water usually came from and there wasn't any water, but on their way back they discovered the whole place has been covered with water.

According to the oldest man in the community, the water appears every 20 or 30 years, they first saw
it in 1971.
He also confirmed that various diseases and ailments have been cured at the pool.

The water stays for 1 to 2 weeks then dries up, and most people who visited the area gave testimonies on how they received healing from the water.
