FAQ about UNILAG 2014/2015 accommodation excercise + Answers and Tips to them

We all probably received this message from LagMobile:
"To ALL FINAL YEAR & OTHER RETURNING STUDENTS.
Consequent upon the recently declared public holiday, the registration window for bed space allocation is hereby extended till Friday, 9/01/15. For d avoidance of doubt, only students who r fully registered for 2014/2015 academic session as at this date will be eligible to ballot for accommodation. Pls. note that the accommodation fee is N24, 500. Ensure that u set it aside now as u will have limited period to pay. The specific date for balloting exercise will be announced shortly. DSA"
Either from a friend or original source, but the truth is the message itself isn't self explanatory.
FAQ I get includes:

Is Friday the deadline for the payment of the institution fee?
If we pay, is that a certainty that we will get a bed space?
When did they start no ballot without paying your school fees?
How do I register fully when I don't know my courses for the next session?
How can I get accommodation this session?
etc... the FAQ is endless
The truth is, the message is kinda tricky but it is embodied with adequate information which has been stylishly embedded.


Firstly, friday can't be the school fees deadline, it's just one of the procedures you have to go through so as to show that you really need an hostel and that you have the money to pay ASAP as you get it.




Secondly, paying doesn't guarantee you will get. It's just a means of separating the wheat from the shafts (Sorry, I had to use that)




Thirdly, this new system is the first of it's kind and I really hope it helps the ish of accommodation.




Fourthly, registration of course is quite easy. If you do not know the courses to register, ask a previous  level student or refer to your FACULTY PROSPECTUS. All you need is just one course and if you can get it all, lucky you. Register the course and have it at the back of your mind that once school resumes, you need to edit them to the right course codes before course reg closes for the session.




And lastly, to get bed space is quite easy being that it's a first come first serve system. BE FAST is the magic. If you can't be fast, you have to know the way then.
