DIARY OF TRACY RICE - Episode 1

Tracy Rice, yeah, that's my name. Strange right? Especially when you find out that the bearer is a Nigerian- a dark-skinned one for that matter. Well, that's your headache. I am Tracy Morenikeji Rice, and this is my story.....

Unlike most Jambite, who hope to be enrolled into a university, I was in no hurry whatsoever. In fact, I had mixed feelings when I finally saw my name on the admission list of the university of Lagos. I know many would have given anything to be in my shoes (come on! It's Unilag for crying out loud!!) but my years as a QC skrep made me rethink being a student of Unilag. My plan was to remain at home for a year and pending that time, I'd learn the basics of being a 'happening babe'. My dreams where shattered as daddy drove me to the school that morning. Why? You may ask...well, after
seeing the 'packaging' of my fellow freshers it was very clear that there was no hope for me.
Well, I'm sure you are wondering what I look like. I'm dark-skinned,of average height, skinny and wait for it......very busty (I hated this cos I always got picked on and teased in the dorm because of this). As for facial appearance, someone once told me that if I paid attention to my looks and I quote "I may pass off as a fine girl" (I know there's an insult hidden in it but it counts for something. Right?).
Anyway back to my story, I was allocated to the Moremi hall of residence, at least it was closer to my faculty. (yeah, I almost forgot. I'm a student of the faculty of business administration, department of finance. Fresh, right! :(). I was so glad I got a two-man room, less people, thank God!
I had settled in and was on my way to class. My room mate hadn't moved in yet so I had the entire room to myself. Bathing that morning was so uncomfortable cos some girls kept staring at my bust. They were conversing in Yoruba, probably cos they mistook me to be Igbo( I get that alot). I was on a plain sky blue t-shirt( size extra large to conceal my bust) and black Jean and a converse. Mummy didn't get me any hand bag so I had to carry a backpack. I had my reading glasses on cos I felt I look pale without them. As I got close to senate building, I put on my "beats by dre" headphone (yeah, I got that as my 16th birthday present. Oh! I forgot to mention that my parents are really boxed up...daddy and mummy work at chevron and they own a school too...I have only one sibling and he is a medical doctor at Ukraine). The only ish is that my parents are rather too careful when it comes to spending, they rather "invest in the future".
I was 15 mins early for the FBA class, so I waited outside, not wanting to associate with anyone. I just wish to spend the rest of my years in school unnoticed. I was listening to Adele's "one and only" and playing four pics one word on my z10, when a felt someone's presence next to me, I made no attempt to look up cos I seemed to be getting all the answers right. Suddenly, I felt someone tap me, as I looked up I saw this extremely cute guy addressing me, he was saying something but I couldn't get it cos I was shamelessly staring at him. I finally put myself together but he was frowning now. I apologised to him cos he thought I was trying to snub him (like that could ever happen!). He was initially telling me I was quite good at the game, I replied 'thanks' dryly. We talked for a few minute. His name was Tunde Philips, a 300l student of IRPM, he laughed when I told him my name tho (as usual). I was about heading for class when something strange happened- he asked for my phone number!!!.
