She began her professional career
in television while as a model she was selected to handle a youth focus
magazine show aired on live TV in Calabar, following the success of the TV
programme, she was tasked with anchoring the Live Tourism Focus Broadcast, a
weekly show aired on CRTV. That proved to be less challenging for the ambitious
and hardworking presenter then she proceeded to handling live commentary and
interview broadcasts on high profile events across the state thus creating a
link between those in power and the masses. As the saying goes, the reward for
good work is more work, the success of
the programme she was handling propelled her to the office of the executive
assistant to the media consultant to the Cross River State Government. Her
programme, The Red Carpet Show with Wofai Samuel was a blast in the South South
region and the success encouraged her to relocate to Lagos, the hub of
entertainment and pitched a job at Nigezie as lead anchor. It was during her
stint with Nigezie, she conceptualized their first ever 2 hour lunch time
magazine show tagged Crunch which aired weekly on AIT.
Currently working with MITV, the
renowned TV presenter who was spotted celebrating with family and friends said
she could only describe her mood as euphoric. Her choice of words were “it
feels so good knowing everything we have been doing isn’t for nothing, that
people really cared and that even the international community is paying
attention has made it worthwhile so I am dedicating all my awards to every
African woman across the world“.
A catalogue of her awards include
All African Business Leaders Awards, West African Power Awards, TREK African
Women Awards, Rising Stars Media- UK Life Changers Awards, Vanguard Personality
Awards and most recently Life Changers Awards. Other than recognition from the
international community, Wofai Samuel was presented an award by the former
Deputy Governor of Lagos State for her contributions towards fostering peace
and unity in Nigeria through her activities.
