Leaders at Samaritan’s Purse, a North Carolina-based Christian humanitarian group, asked officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention whether any treatment existed — tested or untested — that might help save the lives of Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, both of whom had contracted Ebola while helping patients in Liberia.
The CDC put the group in touch with National Institutes of Health workers in West Africa, where an employee knew about promising research the U.S. government had funded on a serum that had been tested only in monkeys.

Nigerian doctor who treated Liberian man tests positive to Ebola virus

One of the Nigerian doctors who treated Liberian Patrick Sawyer (pictured right) who died last week in Lagos of Ebola virus, has tested positive to the virus.

The Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, revealed this today Monday August 4th and also said that eight people who had first degree contact with the Liberian have been quarantined and are under strict observation.

Now after attending to Sawyer, this doctor, unaware that he'd exposed himself to Ebola, would have gone home to give his wife a kiss and hugged his daughter/son. God help us. More details later...

Unknown gunmen abduct Bayelsa speaker’s brother

The younger brother of Bayelsa State House of Assembly Speaker, Konbowei Benson, Iniokpoemi Benson was abducted by unknown gunmen around 3am early this morning Monday August 4th at his residence in Korokorosei community in Southern Ijaw local government area.

Benson is the immediate past chairman of the community's development committee. This is the third high profile kidnap in the space of two weeks in the state.

Annoying moment 'paedophile' pictured hand-in-hand with 11year old girl

Child prostitution is quite common in Cambodia because of how poor many of them are. Some parents resort to prostituting their underage daughters to make ends meet...and knowing this, 55 year old British paedophile, Michael Jones, traveled to the country to have himself a good time.

The above pic left shows the moment Jones was spotted hand-in-hand with a girl said to be about 9 years old in the country's capital, Phnom Penh. He took the girl shopping, then took her to his rented apartment, had sex with her and returned her home.

Pictured right is Michael with three underage girls, two of them half dressed with another little girl on his lap. The girls are aged 8 and 9 years old. It was later found that he'd had sex with at least one of the girls. It is alleged that Jones took the girls shopping, bought them gifts, had sex with one of them, while grooming the others before taking them back to their houses.

Lagos Govt warns TB Joshua not to accept Ebola victims in his church

The Lagos state government has warned pastor TB Joshua of Synagogue Church of All Nations not to accept Ebola victims if they come to him for healing.

According to The Nation officials of Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Federal Government, led by the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, visited him seeking his cooperation in ensuring victims of the deadly virus are not brought to his church for healing. Synagogue is a popular destination for sick people who go there for divine healing.

"We have our strategies that we intend to share with you. Again, we need to know the resources you have here because whether it is one or two cases, if they are allowed to get out, it is a major problem. Chibok girls suspected as suicide bombers

There have been an increase in female suicide attacks and a source who spoke with Vanguard thinks the female suicide bombers may be captured Chibok girls. The unnamed source said he believes that the girls may have been exposed to radicalization by their captors.

The source spoke about the possibility that the girls had been indoctrinated by the terrorists in the last three months of their captivity, hypnotized and sent into various parts of Nigeria and beyond with a view to carrying out deadly missions.

The source, who has contacts with the Boko Haram leadership, pointed out that it may be difficult to change radical orientation of the girls, who may now see their malevolent disposition as an act of righteousness.
