He said he was outside my hostel and that he had been calling me that he almost thought I wanted to 'sly' him. But he was glad to know I was sleeping and not purposely avoiding his call. I quickly left the room to the bathroom, washed my face and came back to towel-dry it.

US To Give Buhari $2.3bn To Fight Poverty

The Federal Government has signed a $2.3bn assistance agreement aimed at fighting extreme poverty with the United States Agency for International Development.

UNILAG students protest over hostels being infested with bedbugs

Well, somebody finally got the nerve to lead a protest as regards our hall of residence being infested with bedbugs. This morning, Monday(28th Sept) saw the students of UNILAG shut the university’s two exit gates, to protest the invasion of bedbugs in hostels.

The bedbugs were reportedly given birth to after the school management claimed to do a hostel sort of fumigation. 

The school is aware of this situation and have refused to do anything about it but with this protest which looks like the best means to make them act should see a prompt action from the university management

OPEN LETTER TO UNILAG MANAGEMENT CONCERNING OLUCHI'S DEATH

It’s with a bitter hearth I have chosen to write this letter. Yesterday 8^th September saw the passing on of a close female friend of mine due to the lackadaisical act of the school management. This wire sparking ish has been on since my year one days and nothing has been done about it, same thing around Amina hostel, a wire around there keeps sparking. Currently, a wire from a pole facing faculty of social sciences has been down for over 2weeks since a heavy wind fell it down and nothing has been done about that. Is it until sth else happens before the school management takes action? Cos this seems to be the case. Even before the fire station in school was restored, we already had like 2-3 fire serious incidents.

Am not writing as a student, I am as a close friend of Oluchi who will dearly miss her prolly that’s my future wife or someone else’s own, who knows?

UNILAG management should try and do sth about all this sparking ish cos it happens inside hostels sef, prolly a rewiring or whatever it is called should be done not some fumigation that gave birth to bed bugs in our hostels.
