17 year old Leelah (Josh) Alcorn committed suicide on Sunday December 28th by walking in front of a tractor trailer and left a suicide note before he died. But when her mum reacted to her death on Facebook, she wrote something that many folks in the gay/transgender world are very upset about. First the mother said she was 16 when Leelah wrote she was 17. Carla called her Joshua instead of the name she'd given herself, Leelah and she also refused to acknowledge that Leelah had committed suicide instead she wrote that she was hit by a trailer. Meaning that she still doesn't accept who Leelah was as a person even after she committed suicide. After the backlash, Carla deleted the post and removed herself from Facebook. Leelah Alcorn blamed his suicide on his Christian parents...

TMZ - In what seems like a scouting trip for a possible Solange Knowles career change, Jay Z and Beyonce took in a Muay Thai fight during their vacation in Thailand.

It all went down at Patong Boxing Stadium in Phuket. There were kicks. There were punches. There was Beyonce sitting ringside while the violence unfolded ... all in a space that was roughly the size of an NYC elevator. 

AirAsia flight found upside down at the bottom of the sea

Indonesian search officials have now confirmed they have located the fuselage of AirAsia flight 8501 on sonar radar, upside down on the sea floor, not far from where three of the bodies from the doomed AirAsia flight were found holding hands when discovered floating in the Java Sea. Officials from Basarnas, Indonesia's search and rescue agency, say the plane wreckage has been located in 24 to 30 metres of water and one of the seven confirmed recovered bodies was wearing a life jacket.

Lieutenant Airman Tri Wobowo, who was co-piloting Indonesia's C130 Herclues aircraft, was the first to discover debris from the plane and witnessed the tragic scene.
'There were seven to eight people. Three of them held hands,' he told a local newspaper.

17 year old transgender teen Leelah (Josh) Alcorn committed suicide on Sunday Dec. 28th by walking in front of a tractor trailer on a highway in Ohio. A few hours later, her suicide note, which she posted on her Tumblr page through scheduled publishing, went up. In the heartbreaking suicide note, she blamed her death on her religious parents who she said refused to acknowledge her gender and forbade her from transitioning into a girl. Read her suicide note below...

If you are reading this, it means that I have committed suicide and obviously failed to delete this post from my queue.

Please don’t be sad, it’s for the better. The life I would’ve lived isn’t worth living in… because I’m transgender. I could go into detail explaining why I feel that way, but this note is probably going to be lengthy enough as it is. 

Why Jonathan did not visit Chibok—Yakasai

Elder statesman and chieftain of the PDP Alhaji Tanko Yakasai over the weekend explained why he thinks President Jonathan didn't visit Chibok. He said:

“Why I think the president’s decision not to visit the area is not bad is because we were all aware of the deteriorating level of insecurity in that part of the country. We all know it was too risky for the president to visit Chibok at that time. The president is not a soldier, soldiers are the people that should be sent there. If I was the president and such an incident occurred, the right thing for me to do was to send soldiers and to be frank, our soldiers are doing their best. We are hearing on radio and reading on newspapers how soldiers are being killed but yet they are doing their best.

Cause of Ebola outbreak was 'a young boy playing near colony of infected bats', scientists say

Scientists said today that the cause of the deadly Ebola virus that hit West Africa this year was a 2 year old boy, known as patient zero, who played on a tree near a colony of virus-infested bats in his village in Meliandou, Guinea. He was the first person to die but before he died, he infected other family members, who then spread it to others and the virus eventually spread into other areas in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria and Senegal, before moving to the US, UK and Spain. 

This Ebola outbreak is by far the largest ever-recorded outbreak and it has killed about 7,800 people by Dec. 17, 2014, according to WHO.

 Kim Kardashian is spoiling 17-month-old daughter, North West with a £35,000 (N9m) dolls house.

According to US Weekly, the doll house comes with a marble bathroom with North West's initials "NW" encrusted in gold on the bathtub. Along with the doll house, the celebrity website also reports that Kim Kardashian bought a Dolce & Gabbana leather jacket with “North” etched in Swarovski crystals.

North West has been lavishly spoilt this Christmas as Heat Magazine earlier reported that Kanye West dropped $62, 000 on a diamond-encrusted tiara and $12, 000 on a toy replica of his black SUV for his daughter.

A mechanic, Olajide Olaniran, has stabbed a 34-year-old man, Julius Joseph, for allegedly pinging on the road while driving in the Ijaiye area of Lagos State.

Punch gathered that Joseph was returning from a bank in the area to withdraw money when Olaniran, who was in a Toyota Corolla, blocked the road and accused him of pinging and driving.

It was, however, learnt that Joseph was checking an alert he received on his phone when the incident occurred.

Another AirAsia plane carrying 153 people overshoots runway in Philippines

Two days after an AirAsia airliner carrying 163 people plunged into the sea, another one carrying 153 passengers overshot the runway at an airport in the Philippines today December 30th, forcing passengers to disembark the aircraft on emergency slides.

The incident occurred at Kalibo Airport in Aklan province in Philippines according to a journalist Jet Damazo-Santos who was on board and shared the photo above on Twitter. "Engine was shut immediately, we were told to leave bags, deplane asap. Firetruck was waiting,' she said

There have been no word from AirAsia officials about this latest incident but according to Jet, no passenger was injured in this latest mishap.

TMZ has learned the jet Bieber posed on is a G4 -- which is for sale -- but was not purchased by JB. Sources with direct knowledge of the aircraft tell us Justin merely chartered it for a Christmas flight from Canada to NYC. In other words ... just a really expensive Uber.

Justin captioned the pic ... "New jet for Christmas, and she's beautiful" -- prompting many to believe he'd just made the biggest purchase of his life. Not so ... though it's true that it was new to him, and the 22-seat ride is undeniably beautiful.

BREAKING: Plane Door & Emergency Slide 'Spotted' in Search for Missing Flight QZ8501

Items resembling an emergency slide, plane door and other objects were spotted during an aerial search Tuesday for missing AirAsia flight 8501, Indonesian officials have said.

Displaying 10 photos of objects resembling a plane door, emergency slide, and a square box-like object, Indonesian air force official Agus Dwi Putranto told a press conference:

"We spotted about 10 big objects and many more small white-coloured objects which we could not photograph. The position is 10 kilometres (six miles) from the location the plane was last captured by radar," he said.

AFP reports that their photographer on the same flight that spotted the debris said he had seen objects in the sea resembling a life raft, life jackets and long orange tubes.

First case of Ebola recorded in Scotland

The first case of Ebola virus has been recorded in Scotland. According to the Scottish government, the Ebola patient is a health worker who arrived Scotland from Sierra Leone yesterday December 29th where she was helping to care for Ebola victims.

She arrived Glasgow in Scotland from London Heatthrow airport on a British Airways flight. All passengers on-board the flight are now being traced for examination. Meanwhile the woman has been quarantined at the Gartnavel hospital.

Ghanaian OAP Denies Rape Allegations From 19-Year-Old

A Ghanaian OAP Kwasi Kyei Darkwa was involved in a rape scandal over the weekend after a young lady accused him of allegedly raping her in the bathroom of the African Regent Hotel after a fashion show ‘Rip the Runway’ that held on December 27th.

Kwasi Kyei Darkwa is currently being held by the Airport Police Command for the alleged offence. As reported by Ghanaian fashion website, FashionGhana.com, Kwasi Kyei Darkwa told Starr FM’s Kobby Gomez-Mensah in an interview that he and the alleged victim had consensual sex and they even had a drink after.

According to VibeGhana.com, a statement released by Kwasi’s lawyer Nana Asante Bediatuo states that on-air personality KKD is “baffled why she now says it is rape. There were other people around and it’s difficult for me to understand how a person can be forced to have sexual relations and the people around won’t hear cries or shouts for help.”
